Just a quick message for the day. Should you be cooking a meat barbecue with few veggie items for your vegetarian guests – then try to keep the two food types separate. Most vegetarians don't want their food cooked with anything that Has already touched meat, and this includes the grill it lies on.

One idea is to keep a separate grill just for your veggie items. Everyday Vegetarian Recipes features a collection of grills you can consider in this case:

Quorn March 28, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — veggiebbqideas @ 5:51 pm
Of all the meat substitutes I've tried over the years, Quorn is the  most superior (followed closely by the UK's Asda own brand)

However, this is not available in many countries, only:
United Kingdom
Belgium
Denmark
United States of America
Switzerland
Norway
Netherlands
Sweden
Australia  (which is very frustrating, as I'm living next door in New Zealand and can't get any!)

If you live in any of these countries then check them out as they have loads of products suitable for a BBQ which would result in no extra effort from yourself other than getting them out the packet and sticking them on the barbecue.

BBQ Seitan March 21, 2011

Seitan

Although it is made from wheat, seitan has little in common with flour or bread. Also called “wheat meat”, “wheat gluten” or simply “gluten”, seitan becomes surprisingly similar to the look and texture of meat when cooked, making it a popular meat substitute. Seitan is also high in protein, making it a popular protein source for vegetarians.

One BBQ recipe for Seitan to try is:
Easy grilled seitan in barbecue sauce

Cooking an egg on the BBQ inside a large mushroom – not only perfect for veggies, but also a great addition if you are serving gammon.
Please note, you will need a BBQ with a lid for this.
